The BIG SKY competition is held for the third time in 2019-2020. This is a competition for young musicians, aged 18-28 years old, professionally playing, singing, composing and writing jazz.
Advantages of participation in the competition:
• Lack of registration fee from participants;
• An opportunity to attract attention and start cooperation with one of the European managers;
• Live workshops from world stars of jazz and European management.
So, what is the «BIG SKY» 2019-2020:
This is the only competition project where the jury includes representatives from all areas of world-class music management, which means a unique opportunity to make yourselvesknown to the not only Russia but also abroad!
The famous jury:
Alexey Kolosov(Jury Chairman) – author of the «BIG SKY»project, composer, jazzman, art director of many jazz festivals. (Russia)
RafaeleCasarano- Jazz saxophonist, art director of the festival «Loconotive-Jazz» (Italy).
Rocky Malatesta – President of the Russian-Italian Friendship Society «Chesvir» (Italy).
Hasan Bagirov – soloist of the Jazz Philharmonic and member of the Jazz Music Ensemble of David Goloshchekin (Russia).
Sergey Sokolov – pianist, composer, producer of the International Jazz Festival “Jazz Without Borders” (Helsinki)(Russia-Finland).
Olga Skepner – director of the festival of improvisational music in Kazan «Jazz in the estate of Sandetsky» (Russia).
Maria Voloshina – founder of the first school of jazz and musical J&M School in St. Petersburg, general director of the J&M Show production center, singer (Russia).
Matti Lappalainen- director and producer of the festival«April Jazz» (Finland).
There are five nominations in the competition:
«The Best Vocalist»
«The Best Instrumentalist»
«The Best Jazz Band» (3-7 participants)
«The Best Composer»
«The Best Jazz Journalist»
Competition dates:
1.10 – 5.11.2019 – the extramural qualifying round
15.11.2019 – first semi-final of the international qualifying round.Russia, Saint-Petersburg
16.11.2019 – Gala concert of the jury and the winners of the first semi-final of the international qualifying round.Russia, Saint-Petersburg

Tervetuloa osallistumaan kansainväliseen 18 – 28 vuotiaille tarkoitettuun JAZZ BIG SKY kilpailuun Pietariin 14. – 16.11.2019
Finaali järjestetään Moskovassa kesällä 2020.
Järjestäjät toivovat, että jazzmuusikot osallistuvatt myös Suomesta kilpailuun
Hakuaika on pidennetty 5.11.2019 asti.
Kilpailussa ei ole osallistumismaksua.
Muusikoille, jotka saavat demo-ääniteen / demo-videonsa perusteella kutsun Pietariin kilpailuun järjestäjä maksaa hotellin 14.11 – 15.11 välisenä yönä.
Jos kilpailija pääse seuraavan vaiheeseen niin järjestäjä maksaa myös hotellin 15.11 – 16.11 välisenä yönä.

Lokakuun alusta Suomen kansalaiset voivat saada sähköisen ilmaisen viisumin Pietariin. Kuitenkin Allegro-junalla vielä ei voi matkusta sähköisellä viisumilla. Sähköisellä viisumilla voi matkusta autolla / bussilla / lentokoneella.
